Donations for the Chapel Interior Enhancement
|
The construction of our new Chapel is well advanced
and we now look forward to its completion sometime in February 2010.
It goes without saying that the excitement is growing by the day as its
magnificent form takes shape; however it is not so much the beauty of
the building that excites us but the many ways
it will be used by the Whitefriars community.
We hope that the Chapel will provide a place for the building and
witness of a faith community that encompasses
not only our current students and families but also
our past students and their families.
Extending beyond the celebration of College Masses
and times of prayerful reflection, the Chapel offers to families past
and present a beautiful space in which
to gather in faith for the celebration and
acknowledgement of the significant moments in life: marriages, baptisms,
anniversaries and funerals.
We are now planning the interior of the Chapel which
includes specifically designed furniture and liturgical items crafted
from natural materials and fibres such
as stone, timber, glass and fabric.
You
have
the opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of the Chapel interior
in one of two ways:
Select a particular item from the list below for
which you offer to defray part or the whole cost.
Offer a general donation towards the total cost of
the Chapel interior.
Donors will be acknowledged (optional) on a plaque in
the Chapel asking visitors to pray for them. Any
contribution towards the cost of these furnishings would be very much
appreciated.

The
Chapel will be officially Blessed and Opened by the Prior General of the
Carmelite Order, Most Rev Fernando Millan Romeral, on Sunday 25 April
2010 at 3pm. Fr Fernando will be in Melbourne for the Provincial
Chapter of the Carmelite Order in Australia and East Timor which begins
the following day.
Thank you for your consideration of
this request. I hope that, together, we will create something in
our new Chapel which is truly memorable and inspirational.
Wishing you
many blessings.
Fr Paul Cahill, O.Carm.,
